webOS 1.4.5.1 to Hit Sprint Tomorrow?

According to this post at the Precentral.net forums, webOS 1.4.5.1 is supposed to become available via an OTA update tomorrow, August 10. As far as rumors go, this one seems to have some legs:

Sprint announced in ISC that the new update should be out 08/10/10. I will email screenshots to anyone who is willing to host them for me. I’m a bit paranoid of image hosting services.

The new build # is 268.

This description seems to support the more general rumblings about the update, but oddly enough doesn’t mention the most important change: compatibility with the sandboxed PDK apps that have hit the Palm App Catalog for webOS 1.4.5. While international users have had the update for a few weeks now, US Sprint users will now have access to these apps. Given that Palm’s PDK Hot Apps contest has been going on for awhile now, that’s a good thing for webOS developers.

Now’s the time to cross your fingers if you’re so inclined.

Update: 8/10/2010 – Sprint has posted the change log for webOS 1.4.5 (no .1, oddly enough), and so it looks like the it might hit today.
