Palm Adds Talent from Nokia, Samsung, and HP

Looks like Palm is doing some c-level poaching of their own. According to All Things D, Nokia’s Ari Jaaksi, the former leader of the MeeGo division, has possibly joined Palm to head up the webOS team of engineers. He would be replacing Peter Skillman who recently left Palm for Nokia.

Other Palm additions :

  • Former Samsung staffer Victoria Coleman, who will be working to push forward future iterations of webOS.
  • Former HP SVP Steven McArther will be managing Palm’s product marketing.
  • Former HP SVP of worldwide sales for the PSG, Enrique Lores , will become Palm’s head of sales.
  • Former HP SVP of product development, Steve Manser, will head up Palm’s product management.

Whew. That’s a ton of new management talent, some of it essentially filling in the holes left by departing Palm employees. Or, another way to look at it: it’s more of the puzzle pieces being put in place by HP as Palm is assimilated into HP’s PSG. Welcome, folks, and we can’t wait to see what you have in store.

  1. While looking for information about the HP execs going to Palm, I found this about Steve Manser (the new head of product management):

“…Most recently he worked for palmOne, Inc., as a Senior Vice President responsible for all product development and marketing activities, including the design and launch of the successful Zire and Tungsten products…”
