The latest round of bad (alleged) news is making its way through the webOS community, this time around the fact that the webOS 2.X update for legacy devices may not arrive until sometime in the first quarter. Precentral reports:
Palm promised that HP webOS 2.0 would be available by the end of 2010. In a way, they’ve delivered, if you want the updated operating system all you’ve got to do is buy a Palm Pre 2....

In all of the coverage of Jon Rubinstein’s talk at D:Dive Into Mobile conference, this bit seemed to have been lost. Or at least, I don’t remember seeing it covered (and I’ve been a bit busy and out of touch lately):
