Yes, indeed, today is the day that we finally learn what HP has up its sleeve for webOS. I’m filled with a certain amount of competing excitement and trepidation, because I think that while some folks will be made very happy by today’s announcement, the same might not be true for some others.
However, we’ll know in just a little over two hours from now, and so there’s no more point for idle speculation....

If you haven’t already, go check out HP’s latest teaser. Interestingly enough, it’s on the Palm site, and so does that bode well for our favorite brand?

I was thinking over the weekend about my future gadget plans, and discovered that it’s actually a bit premature to start making any decisions (a “duh” moment if ever there was one). That internal discussion led me to start pondering what I want from technology in general over the next year or so, and how that plays into any plans I might make as to actual monies to be spent.
My conclusion: my needs are...

I still haven’t received my invitation (hint hint), but Techcrunch is reporting that they got theirs:
In my first official understatement of 2011, that sure sounds interesting. My guess is they’ll announce the world’s smallest smartphone in a replacement for the Pixi, and then the biggest webOS device in the PalmPad. The “beyond” part part might be a hint that other devices will be coming at a later date....

Well, 2010 is coming to a close, and it’s been a wild ride. Palm was purchased by HP, kicking off a sequence of events that have left webOS enthusiasts in the uncomfortable position of chasing unicorns and rainbows rather than reveling in what the platform could and should be.
